Dr. Keinath joined the faculty of Metropolitan
State University in 1989. As faculty member in the
College of Management at Metropolitan State, Dr.
Keinath has taught courses in management, organizational
behavior, and quality management and served for
a time as graduate program coordinator. She served
as examiner and senior examiner for the Minnesota
Quality Award for three years, and as examiner for
the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for
three years.
In spring of 1998, she began teaching online as
well as in the classroom. Since the fall of 2000,
she has directed the development and implementation
of Business Online, an online 2+2 degree program
in business between Anoka-Ramsey Community College
and Metropolitan State that includes a comprehensive
learner support network. She developed a faculty
training model and has trained nearly 200 faculty
members in web-enhanced and online teaching methods.
Recently, she was named director of the university’s
new Center for Online Learning. In this capacity,
she leads the university’s efforts to promote
excellence in online pedagogy and delivery, including
the development of learning communities.
Prior to coming to Metropolitan State, she served
for several years as a staff member and manager
at Albion College in Michigan and at Mankato State
University (now Minnesota State University, Mankato).
She also served as faculty member and program director
for the Human and Health Services Administration
master’s degree at St. Mary’s University
(Minnesota) and interim coordinator of strategic
planning for the Minnesota State University system.
