What majors can I take in Business
Online? At partner institutions, students can earn an Associate
Science (A.S.) in Business online.
At Metropolitan State University, you can now earn a B.S. degree
in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Management, or Marketing.
Can I really take
all of my courses online?
The answer to this question is “yes,” in collaboration
with the partner institutions. The community and technical
colleges offer the A.A. and A.S. in business. Metropolitan
State offers the B.S. degrees in business administration,
marketing, and management.
Generally speaking, Business Online will accept courses
in transfer as long as they were taken at another accredited
college or university. To be sure, check with your academic
advisor before taking these courses elsewhere.
Do
I have to take all of my courses online?
If you are a Business Online student, we expect you to take
the majority of your courses online rather than in the classroom.
However, you may want to take an occasional course in the
classroom if you live near a community college, Metropolitan
State, or another university or college that offers a class
that you want to take. You should always obtain prior approval
from your academic advisor before taking a course at another
university or college. Many students take online courses
without ever intending to become a Business Online student.
Are there other
majors in Business Online?
Currently we offer business administration, human resource management, management,
and marketing majors in Business Online. We do not, however,
have plans to offer the B.S. in accounting online.
How long do
Business Online courses last?
Business Online adheres to the regular semester schedule
of approximately 15 weeks. With most lower-division courses
at three credits and upper-division courses at four credits,
the 15-week semester provides plenty of time for students
to delve into course content, participate actively in online
discussions, and complete assignments.
