What is an A.S. in Business?


An A.S. in Business is a two-year degree that includes career requirements, general education, and wellness courses. The degree is designed for students interested in the general area of business who either desire an entry-level position in the workforce or anticipate working towards completion of a bachelor’s degree. The degree can provide the following benefits:

  • Stand alone as a degree for immediate employability

  • Provide technical skills for marketability

  • Fulfill preliminary requirements towards the completion of a B.S. degree at Metropolitan State University

  • Allow for transfer to a professional level B.S. degree program

  • Satisfy the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum, (but you must follow the recommended general education courses)

  • Conclude with 64 credits
