Online is not right for everyone. Business Online may be wrong for
you if:
-
You are an international student studying in the United States
on an F-1 visa. Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS)
has recently indicated that F-1 visa students may take no more
than three of their per-semester credits online. If you take
more than three online credits in a semester, then you will
not meet INS requirements for full-time study and your visa
status will be jeopardized.
-
Your self-assessment indicates that you would have to change
your learning style and many of your habits to match what online
learning would demand of you. Before applying to Business Online,
take an online course or two to see if you like online learning.
-
Your cumulative GPA does not meet the minimum GPA requirements.
Take some additional courses, either in the classroom or online,
to bring your overall GPA up to the minimum.
-
You think that online courses must be easier than classroom
courses. The truth is that online courses are just as rigorous
as classroom courses. Online courses require much more self-discipline
as well. In addition, you should expect to do LOTS of writing.
-
You want to take only a few online courses. Business Online
requires that you take the majority of your courses online.
If you want to take just a few online courses once in a while
along with mostly classroom courses, then Business Online is
not right for you. You can register for online courses without
being a Business Online student.
- You are not interested in the academic programs offered by
Business Online. It’s not a good idea to pursue a degree
program because “it’s there.”
